Well, it’s been a bit of a week hasn’t it?
There have been some announcements. Dale’s had a cry about the new Pokemon Snap and Lloyd’s been grinding his way through the Steam Summer Sale. We’ve been trying to cover the releases and events that we are interested in so take a look at our posts throughout the week:
But it’s not just reveals we’ve been watching. Lloyd’s also had some time to play through Treachery in Beatdown City. So check that out if you’re interested in 80s beat-em-ups, well worth the play!
As for us, we’ve been playing some games not just gawking over the new releases… well, ignore Dale in the corner watching old Pokemon Snap videos and let’s get into it! What have we been playing?
This week has been one of many games, a week off work combined with steam summer festivals means I’ve got my hands on a load of demos but I don’t want to spoil too much as I’ll be posting previews of my favourite games throughout the week.
Of course we started streaming this week over on Mixer and we’ve got an official schedule for you guys. We’ll be streaming every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 19:00 (GMT+1), so hopefully we’ll see you guys there and we’re more than happy to have a chat. Our stream at the moment is focusing on Elder Scrolls Online and despite my original thoughts on the game, I’m quite enjoying it. The armour looks fantastic and is a step up from Skyrim, so my Argonian NightBlade is slashing and dashing in some style. It’s been an absoutle pleasure exploring all of Tamriel so far and there’s so much more to come. Yeah it’ll be exciting to see what ESO brings to the table.
Well, mostly this week I’ve been playing through ESO like Lloyd and well… I have a confession too. I was not too fond of ESO on release, but I’ve warmed up to it. Maybe its the nostalgia? Like yesterday I was roaming around Anvil starting The Dark Brotherhood questline, and well, I love that city, God! Oblivion was so enjoyable, wasn’t it?
I still think the game suffers from really bad side quests, just a lot of go here then come back style quests that are just… uninteresting. We played through the Morrowind DLC firstly, as… we did not realise that’s what we were doing… yeah I know… We should have checked the map properly! But the main quest line for Morrowind was excellent! The main quests are fantastic, from what I’ve seen and I’m excited to jump back in and keep grinding through. I have to admit it has been a while since I’ve played any MMORPG, so I’m still getting used to many things.
Besides that, I’ve also been playing through the Isle of Armor DLC for Pokemon Sword and Shield. It’s… concise. But charming and exciting. The area that you visit is one giant wild zone, which has so much more characterisation that the original wild zone. It feels much more alive and natural. One fun thing that I did at the beginning of the playthrough was wipe my team, minus my Togetic… shes beautiful okay! I allowed myself to start a new team for my playthrough, but it did not come to fruition as the DLC is so short. But I’ll keep my opinions a little quiet for now as I will be reviewing it next week.
That’s it for us!
As Lloyd said we have a schedule for Mixer now, which is 7-11pm (GMT+1) Mon-Wed-Fri. Come check us out at:
Enough from us though! What have you lot been up to this week? Hopefully its been a good’un!
