Carrion is a reverse horror game, yes you read that correctly, a reverse horror game. You are not the hunted you are the hunter within this game. As an amorphous creature, you must wreak havoc on the people that have kept and experimented on you. Establish a foothold in the facility, spread your biomass as far as you can and […]
Oirbo is a 2-D platformer that takes the titular character to a metroidvania-inspired monolithic spacecraft. Which you must explore to discover its secrets and history. I’ve followed the development of this game for sometime via Imagination Overflow’s Instagram and it’s really nice to finally have some gameplay to further increase the anticipation for this game. After becoming the champion of Galar what is left to do? Why not take a (Short) trip to the beautiful Isle of Armor? Where you can meet a new partner, catch some new (Returning) Pokémon and take in the sights! Without holding anything back, the wild zone that they have implemented within the Isle of Amor is excellent! It stretches […]
Minecraft Dungeons is an Action-adventure game that is inspired by older Dungeon Crawlers and set in the Minecraft world. With the limitless possibilities of the Minecraft world, I was eager to find out what they could do with Minecraft Dungeons. The evil Arch-Illager has been rejected by his people, wandering alone he is rejected by the villagers and stumbles upon […]
Wolfenstein has been one of those games that I started playing “back in the day” but just struggled to get past the first couple of missions for whatever reason. I’m a bit of a history buff, so anything in the past gets me interested, and the direction MachineGames and previously Raven Studio’s ‘re-imagining’ of the series provided a ‘what if’ scenario. […]
Next on my long list of backlog to complete is Sabotage’s The Messenger, I found this game at EGX last year when Dale introduced me and has been sat on my PC since. Arguably this has become one of my favourite platformers of all time and it’s a game that will instantly grab your attention. It has a lot going […]
With a couple of weeks off work, I now have a bit of extra time to attack what has become somewhat of an extensive backlog. Between the awesome offerings on Xbox Game Pass, cheap steam deals and a couple of free games on Epic Games, I’ve been really spoilt for choice recently. So I’m going to start making a move […]
Megaquarium is a charming little Aquarium management game developed and published by both Twice Circled and Auroch Digital. As someone who never plays management games with any success, this game does something special in that it is simple enough that a beginner will be able to play it, but still possesses enough complications that a veteran would still find enjoyment. Something that is hard to find in many games.
Creature in the Well is a fun, fresh and energetic take on dungeon crawlers, taking inspiration from pinball games, Flight School Studios have taken the puzzles that haunt dungeons crawlers and turned them into something truly unique. You’ll never have a play a game like this.
Pokémon Sword and Shield was revealed to huge excitement, then quickly after some announcements, the Pokémon community was split in a way that I’ve never seen before. Ironic, considering the games are based on the United Kingdoms and our current political situations, Game Freak nailed that. But I was not a huge believer that the controversy would be the downfall […]
The Outer Worlds is the spirtual sequel to Fallout: New Vegas and Obisidian have done it again. You take on the Corporate board that run the Halycon Colonies, as they derive the colonists of their last pieces of humanity.
Next up in the SNES Classics series is Super Ghouls ‘N Ghosts, released back in 1991 and developed by Capcom. Super Ghouls ‘N Ghosts is the third in the Ghouls ‘n Ghosts series. You play as a knight, Arthur, who has been tasked with saving the princess, who has been captured by the demon, Saridus. Who is looking for the […]
Star Fox, the original in Franchise, released in 1993. A rail shooter, where you take control of Fox McCLoud’s aircraft and defend your homeplant, Corneria from the Andross’ attacking forces. This game would feel at home down your local or seaside arcade, with it’s rail shooting action and score cards. The reason I say that it belongs in arcade is […]
Nintendo is 100% taking a retro route with the Nintendo Switch with the Super Nintendo Entertainment System Online addition to the Nintendo Online service. My uncle owned a SNES and it was a system that me and my brother would sneak out of his room to get some game time, so I felt this was the perfect opportunity to go […]
Metroidvanias have been mixed with multiple genres… but who would’ve thought that it would be mixed with the pinpoint accuracy of pinball? Now to start off, I’ve not got much experience with Pinball, in fact, the only memory I have of a Pinball machine was a nightmare on elm street one during a family holiday in Turkey. I didn’t play […]
